Hello. You might be asking, what exactly would be an "Unsung Hall of Fame"? Well, I figured it was time to make a blog specifically detailing the definition of unsung in terms of people not celebrated or praised. By definition, people who were thought of as pretty good at any one field in the major sports that either haven't got their due from a Hall of Fame (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, for example) or are possibly forgotten by people in the here and now. As such, over the coming weeks, we will introduce a litany of people that were really good in their time and just haven't gotten their due when it mattered, whether because of bad voters or circumstances beyond the control of others and go from there.
Undeniably, it will be filled with folks that either have been screwed over for the actual Hall of Fame (except Bill Belichick, because being a first-year snub doesn't mean he won't make the HOF in 2027 anyway), but in particular, it will include people for the sole reason to counteract the viewpoint from HOF watchers that try to say certain inductees could make select HOFs a "Hall of Pretty Good". This Unsung Hall of Fame will explicitly be a Big Hall, point blank. Folks can suggest candidates (comment or just @ me on Twitter at @timehasflownby, but the vote for right now is mine alone, so let's have a fair and balanced hall of people who you think of besides the perceived legends. I am striving for at least one inductee a week.
